Location

Ranton is located in the magnificent Loire Valley, between the medieval city of Chinon and refined town of Saumur. At the heart of French History, the region gorges with châteaux and churches to visit, and has kept the authenticity of real France.

The Château de Ranton is 30 kilometers south of the Loire River, which is a 30 minute drive from Chinon and 45 minutes from Saumur. It is a small village of 200 inhabitants, very typical of those in the area, consisting of a cluster of farms around the church and château. Ranton is 12 kilometers west of Loudun, off the D759 between Loudun and Thouars. A car is indispensable to get around.

The Château de Ranton is the ideal starting point to visit the most famous and the lesser known castles and monastries.
